Early Monday 15 November 2021 Russia has performed An Anti-Satellite Test “ASAT” on one of their satellites near the international space station by which has American and Russian astronauts and cosmonauts on board by a direct-ascent anti-satellite missile generating hundreds of thousands of space debris that treating astronauts and satellites orbiting the earth as the U.S. Government confirmed.
U.S. Department of State spokesperson Ned Price said that this test produced around 1,500 trackable orbital space debris and this test consequence is treating the interests of all nations.
He also stated that the seven astronauts currently in space are undertreated by the orbiting space debris.
Long-term risks
The U.S. Department of Defense hasn’t been informed before performing this test which might affect international collaboration, and it is something that U.S. Government will not tolerate.
