As we know Apple’s M1 SoC which has been released in November 2020 is a very fast, power-efficient, and almost perfect overall package, and this year 2021 it got even better with the new MacBook Pro lineup with M1 Pro and M1 Max Processors which blows the competitors out of the water because of the exclusivity of this processors to Apple’s Macs and leaving the competitors with one of two option AMD and Intel to choose from.
Why Arm Processors are the future?
When Apple released her M1 Macs in 2020 it changed everyone’s vision about Personal computing devices forever as this architecture has many advantages over 86bit like being extremely power-efficient, and reasonably fast combined with running cooler than what we used to have in 86bit processors.
The main players in the ARM processors market are Apple with its new line of M1 SoCs and Qualcomm which has produced ARM processors for many big companies like HTC, SAMSUNG, LG, SONY, and for almost every Android phone since 2007.
And now it’s the time to strike again as the company’s chief technology officer Dr. James Thompson has announced in the 2021 investor day event for the company’s future objectives of providing samples to hardware manufacturers in around nine months before the new chip’s 2023 product release.
The new chips are currently being designed by Nuvia team which Qualcomm has bought earlier this year in an enormous 1.4 Billion acquisition.
Qualcomm also stated that it will be ramping up its Adreno GPUs in order to provide desktop-class gaming capabilities in future PC devices.
