Steve Hemmerstoffer @OnLeaks has recently leaked newly rendered images for the upcoming Google Pixel phone that shows no more headphone jack following Apple and other manufactures.
Why Remove the headphone jack?
Apple was first to remove the headphone with iPhone 7 release in September 2016. Then, the headphone jack was marketed as old technology and removed to introduce the true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds as the new solution.
The real reason behind removing the headphone jack is the waterproofing improving and the precious space inside the mobile phone, to fill it with more hardware like Apple taptic engine or give more space to the battery.
Google Pixel A-line
The A series of Google’s pixel is the midrange budget-friendly lineup. The rendered images look very similar to the standard Pixel 6.
The rendered Pixel 6A images show the phone having USB type C, Speaker, and microphone grills at the bottom. At the front, it has an edge-to-edge screen with a cutout for the front camera, which we assume to have OLED technology as the previous generation.
The back also has a huge camera bump with two lenses for different apertures and a flashlight like the previous generation.
As mentioned by 9to5Google, the images show no indication of a fingerprint sensor outside, which means the sensor could be implemented under the screen like the current Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
The expected measurements
152.2 x 71.8 x 8.7mm with 6.4 inch display
Release date
The release date is still not confirmed, so probably we have to wait until the official release date to see the official images for the upcoming phone.
